How time flies! We will soon finish this semester, and I must say that I do learn a lot from this semester, in the Cal State Fullerton. Next semester, I plan to continue studying here to improve my English better.
First of all, during the break, I will go back to my country. I do miss my parents, my relatives, and my friends in China. I wish to see everyone I care about and everyone who cares about me. I will tell them the time I spent here, the story I have, and the different life I experienced in the U.S.
Secondly, I plan to continue studying English here for another semester since I do not think I have prepared well enough for the university. In the spring semester, I think I will take some open university classes so that I can experience the real university life and at the same time prepare some classes for my major.
Thirdly, the tests. I plan to take the TOEFL and GMAT in the next semester. I do want to pass both of them just in one time. Thus, this semester I just force on preparing them but not taking them. However, I have singed up the PBT in our campus so that I can have a try to see how much I should do to improve English better.
To sum up, I feel that I am really not in a hurry! I want to enjoy the life here and improve my English slowly but surely. I do hope that after I enter the university, English will become my tool to study instead of an obstacle.

Topics #8: Senses
First of all, I want to say, I love that I have five senses!!! And I do not know how I will live my life if I lose any of them. To be honest, I am a person who is very afraid of being sick...However, if I had to lose one of my five senses, it would be taste, I think.
Why taste? Comparing with other four senses, taste is less important than others, in my opinion.
First, I cannot lose touch because I have to touch almost everything in my life. When I am shopping, I need to touch material of clothes so that I can know how the clothes feel.
Second, I need to smell something if I did not have the feeling of taste. To recognise something good, decilious, of course, something bad and dangerous. For example, if I forget to turn off the gas, I can still smell it before I get poisoned. However, if I do not have the feeling of smell, then maybe I will be poisoned later on.
The third one is hearing. It is also important because without hearing I cannot understand what people are saying, what music is playing, and who is now talking to me. To be short, I just cannot communicate with this world easily without hearing.
Fourth, the sight! I am very tired of waring glasses now, let alone being blind. I cannot image feeling this world without seeing it. How my family look like? How about my friends? Or that stranger that just passed me?...I would have no ideas about any of them if I were blind now.
Finally, I would choose taste if I had to. I can still eat at least! Just without feeling the taste. Well, it is still sad.

Topic #7: What would you UN-invent?
UN-invent Plastic Bags
If I could UN-invent something, it must be plastic bags.
Nowadays, our environment is becoming worse and worse, and one of the big pollutions comes from waste plastic bags. In lots of markets, people use plastic bags to serve customers, and customers bring their plastic bags home then lose them away. We all know that before the recycling plastic bags comes into our lives, there are billions of millions of un-recyclable plastic bags. They are now buried under the ground forever. They are not only damage the soil, but also pollute our environment. Furthermore, plastic bags are dangerous to children. I find that lots of the newspaper reported that every year there are some children die because they swallow plastic bags mistakenly.
On the other hand, plastic bags indeed benefit humans a lot. We cannot live without plastic bags now. In my country, government used to suggest citizens to use baskets for shopping, but failed in the end, for we have already been accustomed to using them and cannot come back.
In conclusion, if I could UN-invent something, I would choose plastic bags because without them, our environment will be better, and there would not be any accident like swallowing plastic bags.

Topic #6: Time Travel
There are lots of movies which are about time travel, one of them is called Doraemon, which is a Japanese manga series. In this manga series, we all know that there is a lovely machine cat that has the function to go back or go forward into time. When I was watching it, I had the time considering that whether I could go back to see something which I did not experience by myself.
If I could go back to observe any single event, I would like to go back to the day when my country was established. I have watched some TV programs and materials which describe the situation that day. It was extremely crowded in Beijing, the captial of China, especially on front of Tian An Men, thousands of people went there waiting for Chairman Mao to read out the most important annoucement (I just cannot find the right word) that the People's Republic of China was founded today. People there were extremely happy because the war ended and finally their own country was founded. I am a Chinese and fortunately I was born during the peace time. If I could experience what other people experienced on that day, I would be very happy to because I could see Chairman Mao by myself, I could share happiness with people there, and I could witness the whole process of the foundation of my own country. It is really meaningful.
If I could change one thing about this event, I would like to change all black and white cameras to the color ones. If so, people in nowadays could feel that context more actually and excited.

Topic #5: Pet Peeves
There are different pet peeves according to different kinds of people. For example, our composition teacher said that she was annoyed by some drivers who forgot to close their blinker, and this kind of situation annoys me, too. Furthermore, I have another pet peeves which is when some chinese talk with me, they keep saying "You know ?(ni zhi dao ma?) " before every sentence.
Believe or not, you can always meet some chinese people who like to say "You know?" as their beginning of talk. For instance, one of my friends was talking with me about a kind of make-up, she would like to say :" You know? Clinique has a very good product. You know? It is called acne sollution. You know? I have been using it for 1 month. You know? My face goes better than before. You know? It really works, and you should have a try. You know?..." I feel very very crazy when I am talking with her. When she was saying "You know?", I felt extremely uncomfortable and as if she knowed everything and she was the smartest person in this world. That is really a bad habbit. From the moment I realized I did not like the way she said, I stopped saying that words so that I would not annoy other people.
Another annoyance is that when people talk about the criticism coming from other people, they do not think about whether is right or not, they just do not accept it. For example, one of my roommates always makes some noise when she is eating something. Once she was eating in a quiet studying room, another student who sat behind her could not bear that eating noise and said to her. While, when she came back, she complained about how strange that student was. When she was complaining, all of my roommates did not say anything because she did not realize that it was really a big problem she had. I felt really bad when my friends cannot do introspection after they heard some criticism on themselves.
In conclusion, we probably meet the situation which can annoy us, we should prevent the situation occurring on ourselves and annoying others.

Topic #4: I Am Beautiful/Handsome, but...
If I could change one thing about my physical appearance, I will not change any parts because physical appearance is something my parents gave me, and it has been decided when I was born. First, I consider it as a gift. Thus, I will not change anything about it as a present. Not changing it shows respect towards parents. Second, I do not want to change my looks not only because I do not want to be someone else, like a copy character, but also because I do not want to lose my own confidence.
Nowadays, many young people choose to change some parts of their appearance like nose, the lower jaw, eyes and so on. I do not think their original looks are so horrible to change. It is really unnecessary. Futhermore, doing operation on face costs lots of money. People use their money to change themselves to someone else, it is really ridiculous.
However, there are really someone who really needs to change their physical appearance because of some kinds of disabilities which destroy their looks. In my opinion, only these people should change their physical appearance.

Topic #3: I speak Japanese.
When I was a little girl, I was dreaming that one day I could speak another language. At that time, I thought that to speak another language was a great thing for me. Now, if you ask me to choose a new language to learn, my answer is absolutely Japanese.
Why it is Japanese, not something else?
First of all, Japan is a neighbour country of China, and it is closely related to China. Learing Japanese can help me know more about the differences and similarities between the two counties. For example, Japanese wear kimono while Chinese wear chipao in the old days, they looks similar. Who first weared that kind of clothes and how it spreaded to another country? How did another country's people change the style or invent more things about it? These secrets can only be found when I really understand another country's language-Japanese.
Secondly, Japanese has lots of similar writings with Chinese. When I first found a reading material which was writen in Japanese, I found that I could understand nearly 60% of what the writer want to express. They looked like Chinese traditional, but not Chinese simplified. This really interested me and pushed me to learn more about Japanese.
Thirdly, I want to help Japanese and Chinese to know more about each other. To tell the trueth, Japan really has lots of beautiful things, not only the environment, but also people's manners; while, China is obviously a great country with long history and culture. But we really know too little about each other, and maybe for that reason, it makes things go worse.
In conclusion, I would like to learn Japanese because I can learn deeply things about Japan and help not only Japanese, but also Chinese to learn more about the two countries.
